We've all got to wait and see how it shakes out, but in addition to Porsche, ALMS has redunancy in BMWs, Corvettes, and Ferraris.

Whether GA writes rules that let the faster more powerful versions of the cars from ALMS come in or keeps the slower versions that are the current Rolex GT spec is the question I think that all of us want to see answered.
Great post - thanks.

Lets hope this GTC thing is just temporary until the 991 RSR comes out
That's what I'm thinking. The RSR just doesn't stand a chance next season without factory support...

I love the carbon fiber "Coffin" in the the passenger compartment. Stunning attention to detail throughout.

Grand-Am said several times during their ALMS merger press conference that they will retain the link to LeMans, to me this means that they will have to find a place for the 991RSR to race in 2014.

That has been my point of optimism all along. Le Mans is too big of a cherry to let it rot on the tree. If the new US race organization has no ties to Le Mans and the ACO then the France family hasn't got a clue what is important in sportscar racing. I think they can be short sighted and self centered at times, but something tells me they've got enough sense not to cut off that connection. It is part of what they bought when they bought ALMS. Why would they waste it?
