Interested in racing in the 944 Cup Nationals at the historic Daytona International Speedway, but don't have a race legal 944 or can't get your 944 to Florida?

Here's the solution: rent a fully raced prepared 944 from NTech Racing. Full arrive and drive, just bring your race gear and comp license, along with a check, and you are set to be a part of 944 Cup racing action.

Email cup944@aol.com for more details.

For anyone waiting to register for Nationals because they have an event in the interim and they are concerned with not being able to get a refund for Daytona should they need to cancel, I have a commitment from PCA Event Chair: Allen Shirley, turbo91188@comcast.net, that a full refund will be granted for this event if cancellation is made by the driver in writing to him prior to the beginning of the event.

National Championship Format

Finishing position of the final race on Saturday, October 5, determines the National Champions.

Racers must participate in three (3) regional events, including Daytona, and display a 944 Cup windshield banner to be eligible to win a National Championship title. Any properly licensed racer with a legal SP1. SP2, or SP3 car will be permited to register and race during National Championship weekend.

The two Saturday races at Nationals will also count as a points races towards regional championships. Finishing position within chapter determines points - 40points max for each race[e.g. 4th overall but 1st in chapter = 40 points]. Drivers must have raced in at least one regional race in a chapter to accumulate regional points for that chapter at Nationals.

Regional Standings:
www.44cup.com/canada-standings
www.44cup.com/north-standings
www.44cup.com/south-standings

Drivers in good standing within the series and who have raced at least haIf the available races in a chapter during a championship season, are eligible for regional championships titles and trophies.

Basically this means that if you have raced (taken the green flag for any session) in two of the following PCA club races, you qualify to become 944 Cup or Super Champion next weekend at Daytona:

Lime Rock
Watkins Glen
Mosport
Summit Point
NJMP/Tbolt
Sebring
Roebling Road
VIR
Road Atlanta

and, also to include the Cup event at Mosport with VARRAC, or the Cup race at Pocono with SCCA.

The SuperCup National Title is up for grabs. Due to personal issues, I have to announce that I am scratching my entry and won't be there. I'll be watching from up here, and wish everyone the best of luck. (I don't mean to imply that it wasn't up for grabs anyway, by the way!).
I have arranged to have the National Championship trophy at the event all the same.
