Let us all hope for sufficient ratings (and advertisers) to have F1 find a "permeant" home in the US media landscape. And hopefully the NBC online access will have better internet customer access then Speed and ESPN3.

I'll be TiVO'ing and watching for sure, got to see how Hammy works out w/ MBenz. :-)

Thank God I'm still young enough to appreciate Buxton's enthusiasm.

I'm happy to see Diffey instead of Varsha. Tired of him. Like the other guys though, and Peter Windsor would be a great addition too.

I'm pretty happy they kept the core together. I liked Varsha but felt he was the weakest in the crew and didn't feel there was a drop-off when he was doing Barrett-Jackson. I follow Buxton on Twitter and read his blog - he's very well connected in F1 now which means he has cred with the teams/drivers etc. If you miss Peter Windsor be sure to catch The Flying Lap more or less weekly on Smibs TV (internet and podcast) - I think it is a great show and never miss it (no affiliation). I think NBC could have decided to "put their own stamp on things" by starting over with a whole new crew and who knows who we would've had to listen to.

Be interesting to see how they balance live Tour de France coverage with F1 (Brit and German rounds)

Hopefully they can travel and actually be at the races. Too many times they seem disconnected or hoping for cameras to cover something. I know with technology it is not necessary but I think it would help if more than one of the crew was there.

Unfortunately Hobbs and Matchett are too disconnected from modern F1, both in terms of time and distance. One only needs to see BBC or Sky's qualifying coverage to see the difference...
The level of access prior to quali is on a different plane than Buxton, and Coulthard/Ant Davidson/Damon/Brundle's insight into driving the F1 cars, shows how out of touch David Hobbs has become...

Yes there's a large dose of British favoritism with BBC/Sky, but Speed's (and potentially NBC's) coverage looks like it will still be the under-funded experience of watching F1 with a trio of enthusiasts (not experts)...
