I changed to my street motor after my old race motor started sounding a bit funny (better take it out before it gets really expensive). Still had a good weekend. Can't recall what I finished overall in the sprints but had a fantastic time racing with Mark H!!!
I shared the pit stall with Mark McG who had a fantastic weekend after not having raced there in a decade.
All good fun and, my street engine is broken in and ready to go into my 69S street car!

Juan, watched the Enduro on Race Monitor and that street motor did not slow you down too terribly!
While I know you would've rather had the hot rod, it was a pleasure to see you nonetheless.
My GTA2 client, despite never having driven the track before, was able through our work Thursday and Friday to find seven seconds.
Then, working remotely with me at VIR and him in Sebring, he ended up at an :11 flat in the fast Enduro on Sunday.
Fifth fastest lap of all in the Enduro before electrical problems interfered with the Life Racing paddle shift arrangement. Both of us were very satisfied with that!

Had a great weekend. It was good to have a clean enduro yesterday compared to all the mayhem on Saturday.
I was embarrassed to get beaten by Juan's 40 year old street motor though.
Didn't break anything, so I'm hoping to make the Roebling race at the end of the month.

Thanks, Kai. It was my first 48 Hours (at least From Tuesday through Friday morning, then back to VIR for the weekend) and the selection and variety of cars was fantastic! Nice to see friends and as I review the results sheets, I missed touching base with a whole BUNCH!
What a spectacular event! You really need to go next year.

Peter,
I was very careful with it and short shifted all the race. The drop in HP (20% less) forced me to try different things. My turn 17 got all screwed up as I was trying to brake deeper and come in at a sharper angle (since I was coming in slower).
All in all, I'm not complaining. Got down to 27:2 on the sprint and 27:5 on the enduro. Not bad at all.
I hope the cops are not reading this as that motor is going into my street ride....
