Default A couple hot laps at COTA.....in a Miata

Here are a couple of laps at COTA from the MVP event, in a Miata. Yeah, yeah I know, it's like being the worlds tallest midget.

Video quality is not the best, but I think watching the driver is more fun!

Feel free to critique the driving.

Sorry, no A Pillar grabs in this video.

Hey Tony I believe we met at lunch on Sunday & the taco stand. Nice meeting you guys. Nice to see you were able to get Randy in the car.

I bet the guy in the ford GT was wondering how a Miata was able to hang on for a whole lap.

Man i have a lot to learn!

Hi Rene

I wish I had more of those tacos. Mmmm.....they were delicious.

Pleasure to meet you, hope to see you again.

I drove that same car on the same track yet my video looks like a Sunday drive compared to him. *sigh*

Nice going. These cars are such a great platform and it wouldn't hurt any of us to spend some time in one.

There is something I've not liked about the track though. Couple of those corners are just too tight / angular and cars just lose their flow. Be interesting to see the V8s up there later this year.

Great video and thanks for sharing. The driver seems to be very good, is he really Randy Pobst? How is the Miata set-up? The limited view of the cage does not look like a current legal Spec Miata. Just wondering if your car is representative of a SM. Also, is it a 1.6 or a 1.8? The dash board and passenger side foot well looks more like a 1.6 version.

Also, while not really germane to the topic, I meet Randy a few years ago, not only is he a great driver but seems like a genuinely nice person.

TIA
