Default 944 Cup 2013 Schedules

The 944 Cup schedules for 2013 are set for all 3 Chapters:

www.44cup.com/north
www.44cup.com/south
www.44cup.com/cac

The 944 Cup Nationals will be at Daytona with PCA in October.

No membership or dues are required to compete in the series. Drivers in good standing who have raced at least haIf the available races in a chapter during a championship season, are eligible for regional championships titles and trophies. The best 10 finishes will determine 2013 Chapter championships.

The scoring in 2013 for regional chamionships will include a provision for two out of chapter bonus races. The bonus races will allow drivers to earn points for the two best Cup race finishes outside their primary chapter.

The points earned will be as scored in the out of chapter races. The bonus races can be included in a drivers best 10 races for determing total points in the primary chapter, or the bonus races can be dropped from the drivers total at the descretion of the driver. One or both of the races can be dropped or included in the best 10. The bonus races can only be scored during one out of chapter round or weekend of Cup racing. If the chosen out of chapter round or weekend has more than two points races, the best two race results will be used for the bonus scoring. Any driver racing less than 10 Cup races during the season, including the bonus, races will not be eligible to score points for bonus races.

The addition of the bonus races allows drivers to race at tracks they otherwise may never have a chance to race at in their primary Cup chapter and still earn points in the series. The limit of two races is set so that the majority of races used in deciding the championship will come from head to head racing in the primary chapter.

Taking a look back at the first time the 944 Cup raced at Daytona. This was a truck load of 944' s we had hauled down from the Washington, DC area for Rennsport Reunion II. A sight not often seen.

Look forward to having the series back there again for Nationals in 2013.

Spares and tools go inside the car. Issues that need to be worked include finding a pick/drop off location that can park at bunch of cars at once. Cars should be staged and ready for when the hauler arrives at that one location. Too time consuming and expensive for a hauler to pick up cars one by one.Last time I used my farm to depart from with 32 acres to park cars. The farm is gone. A location like Provost Motorsports could work in NJ for the North cars, if someone like Robbie were to agree.

Then you have problem of the hauler hanging around for the entire weekend. Not likely or too expensive typically. May need for a second hauler to take you back to the origination point.

There will be plenty of haulers doing snowbird runs from Florida to New Your/New England, so it could work. The price coming back North would be more bucks than going down. Many haulers are going down empty to pick up the snowbirds so that direction can be a deal.

We paid $300 per car last time. Not sure if that could be matched.

Lastly, someone needs to take charge of the project. Volunteers please step forward.

If I were to see a rig with that load on the highway I'd probably totally lose it!
