Gilles Villeneuve

As a Canadian and to all F1 fans, today is the anniversary of Gilles death in 1982 and I say never forget him.

I worked on his crew his last year in the Canadian Atlantic series, he was a great guy and fabulous driver.

I was living in Montreal and attending the GP there for my four years as a McGill student.
The whole country went into mourning.
How could I ever forget?

Clean, close, fiercely competitive racing without all the idiotic blocking, punting, and fake passing that characterizes today's circus. Gilles was an admirably humble rock star in my book.
