Default Shields down my friends

I usually have it down during race starts due to debris coming in through the window net and open it when it strings out.... but you never know... drive shaft through the windshield

LOL, Mike!

Damn, that is reminiscent of Felipe Massa's almost losing an eye.

Once, a gumball flew in my driver's side window and bonked me right in the shield. That's all I needed to know about that.

Also, shoving allergens into every hole in my face at 100mph is a good way to ruin my month.

I learned that lesson when I had a deer's internal organs, two fetuses and her hind quarters come through my windshield at Summit Point between turns 2 and 3.

OMG! That looks frightening, Frank.

I never drive with my shield up. Unless I forget. Always wear my race suit, gloves, etc. It is always a risk being on track. I do know of a few ways to mitigate that risk and I use them.

Me too, if you have been on track with me you would think that my preferred risk mitigation strategy is driving slowly.

Holy crap..... Interesting that the visor went down after the fact, perhaps a reminder of fear of glass from the 3 inch hole.

Yes, keep your visors down folks. You never know if something might get thrown up or off by the car in front of you.

Yeah I was covered with deer blood and guts, it was disgusting. A severed leg was lying on the passenger sear and I calmly reached over, picked it up and threw it out the window. The door was stuck so I climbed out through the hole in the windshield and saw the severed head lying on the track. Cleaning up the car later that day we found the other gruesome surprises an had to throw out the seats, belts and all other soft parts.
