Default tuneRS Motorsports in FL - anybody know them????

I am looking at getting back into racing and while searching for a spec boxster I found tuneRS Motorsports in Coral Gables, FL. They appear to have some nice cars for sale. Has anyone on the board had any experience with them or know if they are a reputable shop?

PM me if you want to speak in confidence.

Thanks!

MM

They are smart; build fast, quality stuff and have a lot of both pro and am racing experience. Talk to Miguel Potolichio

The Specbox builds are uber pricey but look very well done.

They do look very well built and are pricey. I was seriously considering one of their cars due to the apparent build quality until I learned yesterday they are 2,600+ pounds WITHOUT driver. That's a deal killer for me in such a competitive class as SPB.

I don't really understand why they can't get their cars to race weight? I have a Grand AM spec cage and zero issues with weight.

I too was surprised. I asked and they stated, " their cars are built for endurance racing". Not sure what this means exactly but that was the response I received.

Enzo's brother?

and I agree, that's a lot of coin for an overweight SPB.

The Accusump, power steering cooler, engine oil cooler and trans cooler are all additional weight. From the pictures, extra bars on the cage, some weight left in the way the doors are cut, door seals, and crash bars behind the bumper front and rear seem to be the visible weight difference.

Look like really nice cars though. I would take the weight penalty for one!

They are very nice looking cars. The extra vertical bar on the cage that connects to the A pillar is a very nice touch.

^ Yup, agree with Paul & Eric. The FIA bar on the cage is a thoughtful addition. I'm also quite certain you can find another 50 pounds to pull out of those cars, but it takes sweating the details.

Correction: the white car I am considering is 2439 with 4 pounds of fuel AND wheels. The person I originally spoke with at tuneRS Motorsports relayed the information incorrectly. They emailed me pictures of the car on the scales with wheels to verify this fact.
