62 next month. Debating on whether to start drawing SS, as it would be just enough to make the payments on a nice track car. I go to work every day, making plans as to how to best spend the money on track events and cars.

I got my first P car 2 years ago, and I blame you guys for sucking me into this. All it took was one post saying "Nice car, you should bring it to a DE" and the rest was a slippery slope. First DEs, then AX, now ChumpCar.

I may not be the oldest one here, but I wonder if anyone has been at it longer than me.
Started with MotoCross at age 16.
And here at my first Skippy School. Before I had a driver's license!

That would be 40 years ago.

48 and holding! First DE was in 07' with a 00 911. Then bought an RS and did the HPDE thing until I build my 1st race car in 09. Been racing in some capacity ever since. PCA - GTB, NASA - GTS4/ST2, SCCA - SM, PCA - Stock F. I'll race pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Love it. And, still do some DE's, instruct DE and serve as mentor to instructors when I can.

Since this thread reminded me of how old I am, I went ahead and signed up for SS today. Even taking it early, I'll be ahead of the game until age 72, so I'll just let SS pay for my track addiction until then. If I'm still go fastin' past 72, I'll live on food bank handouts and use what money I have for gas, tires and oil.

Just turned 60 since my last event in Mid October. I started DEs in 1987. Been PCA instructing for 25 years. Did one season of racing in SCCA in mid 90s. I still love doing track driving and instructing. It's fun to occasionally instruct someone younger than I've been instructing.

The best part is that my son got started at 18. He's got 11 years under his belt and is almost finished with a mechanical engineering degree specializing in race engineering. We both love cars together.

Too funny, guys!
Yeah, Peter, the Queen Mother is what it was known as.
Back in those gray market days my dad was on a teaching assignment in Italy (a legend in dentistry) and he shipped TWO Ferraris back. This one and a 330GTC. Both were damaged in shipping, badly, and he gave the 330 to Joe Nastase in return for service. (My brother and I advised him to ditch the 330 or both his sons would likely be killed.) The cars didn't even have seat belts! He liked the 365 anyway because it was a 2+2.
I drove this thing all over the place. It would always overheat in traffic.
I later worked for Joe as a parts cleaner, and one day the 330 reappeared at the shop, as a Strayman conversion; red spyder. Magnificent!
Dad eventually sold the 365 and got, um, a Delorean.
Dad was a pretty cool guy, I have to say.
