I don't think this is the case Matt. Believe it's standard 911 fair.

And this could be where I get confused with all the new models for Cup Cars. The 991 Cup for GTE has double wishbone front. http://www.racecar-engineering.com/c...rsche-991-gte/ For the GTE car, Timo comments in this article on how much easier it is to drive!

Nice post Jason. Heard your testing times were also very good and up front.

Great ride thanks for sharing!

I had not seen the tires moved back at 7.

The turn in at 16 and 17 would be early for me in a low horsepower car, it sure didn't seem to make a difference in a 991.

Thanks all. The 991's extra wheel base and new weight distribution makes it a much more balanced platform while still driving like the 911 we all know and love. Sebring is still bumpy and you can certainly feel the bumps in the 991 as well and I would agree the 991 is better through the bumps than previous Cups. The new seat and paddle shift system are very nice. The biggest learning curve comes with the Cosworth/Pi Data system...very elaborate, very complicated, very effective. Thanks all for taking the time to check out the video. Be Great, J

Jason,

Does your new 991 GT America have the 991 GT3 Cup double wishbone front suspension or the older MacPherson strut setup?

McPherson, as the Cup also. It's only the RSR that have a-arms.

GTE runs the RSR platform. That article is a little confusing as they go back and forth between platforms. I believe Timo's comments referred to Cup platform and not GTE. Timo was likely referring to longer wheelbase, wider front track, and larger front tires (relative to 997 Cup) contributing to more balanced platform, per Jason comments.

New platform acquiting itself well at Daytona test (1st, 2nd, & 4th): http://scoring.imsa.com/

I could probably search for this somewhere, but whats the laptime comparison between last year's Cups (pole) and the GT America?

I should have gotten the stopwatch out for his video.

Car looks great, BTW.

Probably too many variables to make YoY comparison but I think the European guys are seeing 1.5-2.0 sec gain on sub-2:00min tracks. I'm sure some of these guys that are on this board can provide more accurate data.

The larger gains might come over full race distance from the car being less fatiguing to drive.
