This may be one of the most innovative OEM performance products for sports cars EVER
Oh and by the way, Tommy Milner did a 2:23 at Sebring in a stock Corvette on run flats, documented by this Pi system. In a car with a full ON TRACK warranty.
It's a pity Porsche seems more concerned with mandatory automatic-tranny flappy paddles, 87-way Barcalounger seats, and electronic rear toe-altering gizmos...and no stated track warranty coverage

But, note that Corvette is rumored to offer paddle shifting (in an 8 speed!) dual clutch transmission and GM has active rear toe in the Camaro ZL1.

Porsche has lost the plot with the newly effeminate 991 GT3, IMHO.

The other think is that Video VBOX and Race-Keeper offer the same functionality as this NOW. And simply installed in just about any, newer car. Pi has just "caught up" and Chevy is putting into street cars a dumbed down system (plenty good enough) from the C6-R's. Great stuff!

You never know by the title if VR is joking or not on these posts. I was halfway expecting blue neon under body "thrust lighting".
That is pretty cool and I've always been impressed by the value for the dollar wrt 'Vettes. It takes a bit more engineering to make a car track reliable, but really all it takes is better oil and water cooling and decent brakes. Those upgrades also make the vehicle much more reliable on the street in the long run.
It's a real shame that it's a GM product and practically stolen property. Maybe Ford will one up it in the next 'Stang.

Sadly, we had a C7 Stingray attend our last DE in November, and the car ended up locking up the drivetrain, and nearly causing a multi-car pileup. Appears to have been a tranny failure; only about 700 miles on the car. Left the track on a flat-bed. Hopefully an isolated problem; not sure yet if warranty covered the repair.

I'll tell you what, and not to derail the thread (too much), I just came back from Barber last month, Porsche 2-day basic course followed by a 2-day DE with Alabama PCA. I drove mostly PDK cars, Cayman S, 991 S, Panamera GTS, Boxster S (school), followed by my trusty manual 996 Turbo (DE). I came away a true believer in PDK. Prior to that I was a die-hard manual guy. Their current PDK is simply faster. I'd buy a PDK GT3 in a heartbeat. There, I said it. Flame on.
