Mine is white and appropriately named "Moby Dick."

Dually, only rear drive, not 4WD. Most commercial fleet towing vehicles in the south are 2WD, not worried about snow, better for mileage, and less parts to break. Not sure about mpg, I don't ever drive it unless I'm towing.

Pine Belt Ford in MS sells a lot of used commercial fleet vehicles, all with ~120K miles, but newer models like '08 and up. I bought the truck 2 years ago for $10K....it's was a $25K+ truck. No catch, the owner of the dealership also owns Southern Tire, and they go through 100-200 trucks each year on their spent tire hauling program. They needed to blow out an insane amount of trade-ins, so I flew in and drove it home. When I bought mine, there were probably 10 other people that weekend flying in from all over the country to pick up others. Lot's of F250's at the time too. All 120K were highway miles.

On a diesel, I take 120K highway miles over 50K stop and go, idle, daily driver miles all day long.

2012 Ram Hemi QC 4x4 with an Aluma 18' tilt-bed (~1400# with tongue box and winch/plate) with a ~3700# car and weekend supplies (spares, tools, jack, etc....~400#)...about 12-12.5 mpg averaging 75 mph on the Florida plains.
I doubt that I'll ever go back to an enclosed trailer again (even though I have a 24' United UXT up north). This is an efficient, easy to load and haul setup.

Update. The 06 F350 is gone. I had made up my mind that if I was going to buy it was going to be a Platinum F450 Superduty maxed out, crew cab, 5th wheel/gooseneck prep, the works. I seldom used the F350 for anything else so the mileage issue was no longer the big decider.
While walking to lot at the Fo dealer there was not a single dually for me to look at, and almost all others were F350 Lariats loaded. And then there was a 2012 fully loaded King Ranch F350 with 6000 miles. Nice brown leather inside. But the reddish brown plastic interior parts screamed WALMART. Fu***ng disgusting. About to leave when I saw a 2013 Lariat sitting near the exit. White crew cab and10,000 miles. Black leather interior and seemed to have every single option. Heated AND cooled seats! Power cooled ventilated seats are a real trip, had then on my SL55. If you fart when the cool seat fan is on it will be instantly be in your face. Been there, smelled that.
In the driveway now and will post pulling mileage in a week or two.

...and now I MUST run to the dealer and fart in one of the vent seats.

Thanks for the tip!

Nice truck.

Regards,
Looking to do the same thing with my trailer as the trailer tires are just junk. What was behind the decision with the Bridgestone's? Anything else you had to do to convert?

If you have 16" wheels, then no.

If not, you need them (of course) and room for them (probably not a factor).

The Duravis LT tire has a good rep. Cooper has one, Mich has the best one. I went with my local Big O LT tires for the deal - solid tire and they are servicing my bearings and brakes for free.

All of this is the best value for $1K any of us could spend on our hobby.

A friend did the research and used the tires last year -- he had several
prior trailer tire failures. He said some of the delivery services use these
Duravis tires. We had a tread separation on a cheaper tire but none on
the Carlisle tires - we only drove 65 mph and checked pressures
constantly - what a PITA . . .

We did have to buy 16" wheels, but improved the look by going to
aluminum trailer wheels - not car/truck wheels.
The increase in tire size was only 1" dia and had plenty of room.

We also have a RV shop do the wheel bearing service about once a
year.

We run Michelin truck tires and they are always very good.

OK - - - back to tow trucks . . .

Regards,
