Haha. I will put you on the list! I already have a few in head of you. . I"m hoping they work out a deal to reciprocate with Thermal as well. Would love to go out there a couple times too. I was told they already have agreements with Spring Mountain in Vegas and Area 27 in Canada.

It's getting close, I'm signed up for the March 9th PCA track day at AMP, I'll find out if my exhaust is too loud. I have also signed up for the ProAutoSports track weekend on April 13 and 14. So somehow I'm getting on the track soon. My wife did the PCA track day at Bondurant on February 9th. She really was enjoying it until someone threw a rod and spilled oil all over the straightaway just before the 90degree right-hander which ended the day at the halfway point.
Here's a cool picture of her driving our super badass 2009 Cayman S from that event.

I won't be tracking after May either. Good thing though is with Apex, you will be able to run Windows up. That was worth the membership alone.

I'm sure they will run some PCA events or similar out there at first until they sell all of the memberships. Then, who knows. Personally, I hope they don't. It's a private track for a reason. Less traffic is why I paid the money to join (besides windows up). It's closer than AMP as well for me which makes it convenient.

An update, my car passed sound check. Had a great day on the track. We had 5 sessions, my car did well cep't for when I cooked the brake fluid on the last lap of the 3rd session. Peddle felt squishy for a couple of times and then to the floor. I told my instructor about it when it felt soft and he had me back way off, so when it went to the floor I was going slow. As soon as the peddle went to the floor the black flag came out and the session was over. On the back straight I was hitting about 115 and then hammering the pedal, so yeah. Let the breaks cool down and all was well, just drove the rest of the day at 90% instead of all out. I have now ordered new pads and fluid,
I should have done it before my track day.
It just doesn't pay to be lazy, how many times I've got a learn this lesson.
Can't wait for the next one!

Sorry to revive an old thread but wanted to put more info out there for future racers wanting to run at AMP.
I recently got meatballed in my 981 GT4. Caragraphic catless race header, stock PSE exhaust, valves closed blew a 104dB

(Really wish Spring Mountain had more events, nice track w/o any sound issues.)

I'm glad this popped back up. My post above was after my first ever track day. In the last 2 years and 4 months, I've done more than 60 track days. And 12 have been here at AMP. Alas, those days are done. I have done so many upgrades on my car I forget them all, but the latest will take me away from running at AMP. Soul Performance Race headers and I will receive Soul Performance Race exhaust the first week of August. The car is no longer street legal, but it's so fun on the track. I, along with my wife have won a few Hot Lap events here as well, I will miss this track. But good news, we are in the market for a 718 GT4 which I will be keeping stock, so I should be able to run here again.
Here is a short video of my last outing, my third lap I got a PR at 1:49.7, my only lap under 1:50. Sorry for the language, I was happy.

The cones are to move the cars away from the compliance microphone - helps to prevent over sound limit and possible $500 fine . . . there is pre track run testing to prevent out of compliance cars - usually get their registration fee refunded . . . we run a 3.8L air cooled race 911 and can meet sound limits - without the muffler and directional pipe set up we are 108dBA - with 94dBA . . . our set up was built by PO for Laguna . . .
Our friend had trouble with a 3.4L Boxster/ 996 engine and ended up with the "Trap" add ons - - many of the stock exhaust set up cars that have trouble add directional pipes on the end of the exhaust . . .
For the newer cars I would suggest taking to a race specialist - - talk to Doug at Race Technik - - - Race Technik - Porsche Service, Car Racing, Race Car Repair
