Has always been that way...all the way back to 1965 when the 911 was introduced. 427 Vette versus 2.something liter 911...I ask you...which would you rather have today? And which would you have wanted to be driving back then? It's a Chevy, a fast cheap one.

The Vette offers:
In car data
Track warranty
Manual transmission
Track tires
Mucho mod potential
Meanwhile Porsche is making gt3's that arent allowed to wear slicks, were intentionally designed to prohibit 18" wheels no manual option and engines on fire.
Ill take the vette this time.

Saw the brand new ZO6 in the flesh at last weeks Barrett Jackson her in Vegas. Meh I'll pass. This thing looks way to star wars for me. Plus with some options it's close to $90K. Probably over that with local/state taxes. Give me a P car anyday anytime over the General. Ohh yeh and when you take this car to the GM dealer good luck getting the great service your use to from Porsche of any other European brand. GM dealers suck and thats from first hand experience. Since this car looks the star wars part may the force be with you every time you take it to the dealer for service. You will need the force on your side for this.

Looks crappy in a convertible. Maybe not quite as bad as a new 911 convertible, but still fugly.
I think the comparisions to 1965 are a litle silly. You now need to compare a new Z06 with a new Cayman GTS. Not even on the same planet, performance-wise.
Easy to remember only the best old Porsches, more than a few dogs along the way...

OK, flash forward to that all-conquering '84. How was that rockin' for a track rat? Same price in the day would have gotten you a '73RS. (Hell, for the comparison just say you modded some generic 2.4-2.7 911 into the low-mid $20K range, as that's what populated a typical Time Trial out here.)
I know what I had more fun with on track then (friend's dad had one of the first '84s delivered into Phoenix--it wasn't even on the same planet as my 2.7L faux RSR '68 that I built when I was 20).
Bottom line is that you can chase bucks v. "performance" all day long. Personally, I can't stand 3000+ lb. cars on track.

I lived with one for over 5 years. Total POS. I said goodbye to the General way back in '96 and never looked back. Like I said may the force be with you when you take it to the dealer for GM service. I'm already laughing.
