Let's not forget the fact that Adrian Newey is retiring and that was probably a consideration along with the fact that Red Bull's chief aerodynamicist went to MacL:aren.

It cost McLaren $100,000,000 in fines because Freddy RATTED OUT McLaren.
Let me ask, would you guys hire a guy who RATTED YOU OUT? That cost you $100,000,000
Vettel is just doing what Schumi did, go to Ferrari to try to bring them back to glory.

I'm all for a Vettel/Kimi Ferrari team. Not saying Alonso is a bad driver he's one of the best, but I never really liked him. Let him go back to McLaren. Perhaps he'll rat them out again and get booted. Second times a charm.

Good move for both drivers. Vettel has time on his side and can wait for Ferrari to make a turnaround. He has already achieved more than most and if he doesn't win any more titles, it would still put him up with with the best.
Alonso does not have much time. He has already given Ferrari enough time, they are just lost. With Honda, it could be great or a complete bust. Might as well roll the dice at this point in his career.
Honda has a big say in who they sign and they have made it very clear they want the best driver, which is Alonso. Ron does not have as much of a say as one would imagine. In the end, it's a business decision, nothing personal.
Let's not forget, there are always 2 sides. We only heard McLaren's.

I could see Hammy go back to McLaren if he is shafted by Toto Wolfe. As by shafted, I mean one more mechanical failure. But since we are not in the pits it is all speculation.

^^^^ sure Alonso blew the whistle because of his integrity........ Alonso threatened the team if they did not put Hammy in check and Dennis went ahead and fessed up instead of blackmail. I actually like what Alonso has been doing, but that was lame.

According to Horner in last night's interview during qualifying, Newey is not leaving and will continue to be an integral part of the team....ie consultant

I beleive that if Alonso goes to McLaren, which is almost a certainty at this point, it's because McLaren/Honda (in fairness all of the F1 paddock does) think he's the best driver out there, personality shortcomings not withstanding.
Honda isn't coming back not to be competing for titles, they understand the importance a top driver plays in their attempt.

RBR ought to have fingerboy in court for nonperformance. His teammate didn't fare too poorly with his equipment, therefore fingerboy has no excuse. His poor performance was willful and deliberate. They ought to bankrupt him in court.
