Kvyat to RBR. No chance of team orders at RBR anytime this season. Vettel off to find slower Co Driver. Alonso to leave Fez for Mac? Vettel in a Red car next season.
"Sebastian Vettel has advised us that he will be leaving Infiniti Red Bull Racing at the end of the 2014 season.
We want to warmly thank Sebastian for the incredible role he has played at Infiniti Red Bull Racing for the last six years.
Since joining the team in 2009, Sebastian, together with Infiniti Red Bull Racing, has scored 38 wins, 44 poles and eight World Championships, including four Drivers’ titles and four Constructors’. If you include Sebastian’s success at Red Bull’s second team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, the Red Bull total increases to 39 wins and 45 poles.
As we wish Sebastian well in the next stage of his career, we also look to the future with excitement, as the vacancy makes way for the next generation of Red Bull racers.
The Red Bull Junior Programme has developed some proven talents in recent times, including Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, who has excelled in the RB10 and become a three-time Formula One race winner in his first season with the team.
We’re pleased to announce that Daniel will be joined in the team for 2015 by another rising star from the Junior Programme, Daniil Kvyat."

My only guess is that he's headed somewhere Renault aren't. Are the teams really stuck with the same engine configuration for next year? And is Honda still on schedule?

Appears Vettel is confirmed at Ferrari and Alonso is strongly rumored to be heading to McLaren.

Hard to imagine that they would just let him leave unless they have full confidence in Ricciardo, which appears to be justified. Then again, if the Renault is going to be a pile of junk again, who can blame Vettel.

Can't believe Alonso would go back to McLaren after all that happened a few years back.....wonder where Button will end up? Hope not with some backmarker team.

There is a point system for engine changes. They assign different components of the engine points. Then each season they give the teams half the amount of points they were given the season before to change aspects of the engine. I think the power electronics are free. I recall reading somewhere that an advantage RB has now is that they can push more current to the electric motor, making up a bit for Merc's overall HP advantage. They will be able to substantially change things for 2015 - especially to equalize the advantages Merc has.

At least we will lose the annoying Infinity commercials. Doubt Ferrari would approve of Vettel pushing Infinity and I doubt Infinity would want a commercial with Vettel driving a Ferrari in a Ferrari red driving suit.

Burning Brakes
The driver changes seem to make no sense (assuming the rumors are accurate), the Redbull is currently looking a little better than Ferrari and Ferrari has looked better than McLaren. That said, McLaren was certainly looking better than Merc when Hamilton left...
One thing I've never heard is, what is it about McLaren/Ron Dennis that seems to make all his drivers want to leave? Well, all except Button.
