Dog asked over in 911 forum and I recommended he ask here...

I believe he's thinking about moving over into E Stock and is looking for advice...for some odd reason, I thought there might be a few folks here who race it.

Were it me, I'd buy Buckley's car and be done with it for while.

If you are referring to this car on his website, this appears to be a D class car:

Sweet looking car though.

I was considering that car.

I was under the impression that it was an E class. But then again I don't really know anything about these cars, hence my thread

What would make it a D versus an E?

The ad says "Stock '83 911SC motor." That is a D class motor/car. E class = EURO SC (9.8:1 compression vs 8.5:1).

That car might be a Euro SC but somehow I doubt Jim would omit that detail.

It is definitely not Jim's E class car.

I see what you're saying now. I was looking at the rules on page 36 and you're right, it would have to be a euro spec car.

I really like this car. I wonder if it would be worth upping the compression to euro spec to make it an E car?

A lot of people have done it. But it's not as simple as trading out the pistons and cylinders. There are other experts on this forum who can explain exactly what has to be done.

I'm sure Jim would be glad to give you a new price for that car converted to a Euro E car. It won't be cheap.

You need Evan to answer here. He owns E. Evan, where are you.

DD, I don't care what you drive as long as you come out and have fun at the track. Always glad to see DD at the track!!

Ha. Are we talking about the same Evan? I can assure you, if the question that you want answered is how to convert a USA D car into a legal Euro E car, Evan will NOT know the answer.

Hey Juan

I'm getting out of 2 liter racing and selling the Angry Leprechaun.

I'm looking to get into something more spec'ish using mostly stock parts, as well as still being a 911.

E class seems to fit the bill.

There's very little info on the web aside from the PCA club rules. I'm really surprised as popular as this class is that there's not a classified section related to them. Looked high and low, nothing out there. Nothing current anyway. Lots of old ads in random places.
