Favorite Car Ever Driven on Track?

Interesting to see all the open-wheel and sport racer (Caterham/Radical) references. Having wound up going that route myself, I agree without reservation. The Spyder/GT3RS/GT3RS4.0/GT2RS were "interesting" but no where near as overwhelmingly rewarding to drive on track as the Mono is. No interest at all to ever drive a "street" car on track again. And it is nice having brake pads that will last for years not weeks

It's a tie. 996 Cup just because it's so good at everything and the sounds it makes are intoxicating. 72 911 with a sort of hot rodded 2.2. Just felt so light and nimble. My old 84 Carrera because I had so much seat time in it that I felt like we shared the same brain.
Non Pcars, Audi R8 4.2 with three pedals. Loved the gated shifter. Also a mid 90s NASA CMC Mustang because I felt like Bo and Luke Duke sliding the car around at will. Was just fun.
Peter, you drove a McLaren F1 car?!?!?! Lucky Dog!

Alfa V-12 F1 car. Mario Andretti's last F1 ride. The car Bruno Giacomelli put on the pole at Watkins Glen in 1980. Not the fastest car I've driven (IMSA GTP car takes that honor) but unbelievable sensory input and the first car that drove a LOT better the faster I went. Downforce...
Now, when folks talk to me about downforce in a GT car or sedan, I have a tough time squelching a chuckle, having driven cars that could, conceivably and at the speeds I was going through SOME of the corners, drive on the ceiling and NOT FALL DOWN...
Amazing... And mind altering...

A fellow brought an SP300.r to Thunderhill, West config, some months ago. Unfortunately I have no video but he was fun to chase and slice and dice with, me in my Mono and on that day the two cars were evenly matched. Looked to be an awesome dedicated track-day tool, and I secretly have always wanted an SP300.r even though I have absolutely no need for it! lol...
