Race Tech 4119 Seat mounting problems, HELP!
i purchased a race-tech 4119 for my spec boxster project. i have intended to use my OEM slider since this car will be run primarily in team endurance events.
unfortunately not one size fits all… i was told the race tech mount i bought with the seat would work with the slider…nope. then talked with BK at length and they sent the version they said would work…..nope. anybody using a race tech seat, and worked through this problem? any suggestions on a slider i can use as an alternative to the OEM, that would use OEM mounting points? thanks in advance.

What exactly is the problem? Sometimes the brackets need to be modified to fit factory sliders, i.e. cut out around the pins in order to mount to the sliders.

I have a Raceteck 4119 WTHR mounted on sliders in my 968. No problems. Different mounting points, but what's the issue exactly?

I recently had the some issues mounting RTWHR4009 driver and RT4009 pass in my 996. RT claims the side mounts are for the 996 but they were too narrow for the Porsche floor stud locations. I spoke extensively with BK and they told me the 9044 floor/sub bar mount would work w/the RT side mounts (I had them talking together to figure this out). Installed the floor mount and the side mounts were still 30mm too narrow. Had to fab custom spacers between the saets and side mounts to make the mounts work together. Couldn't use any of the RT hardware either.

If you're looking for some options and don't mind doing some fabrication, do a search on summitracing.com for seat brackets. They have a few universal fit options.

I had a set made to allow more lateral variation in mounting. They are CNC laser cut mounts. The originals are sitting on a shelf, as I couldn't return them after modifying them to try and make them work. I could contact the fabricator and have a set made for you. Saves the hassle of having to draw up your own plans and finding a shop. If you are interested send me a PM and we can see if they will work for your situation.

if i could slot the BK holes a little to make it work, i would. however there is not enough additional material around the holes, slotting them would leave a very precariously slim amount of material left. the BK's don't have enough space between the seat holes. the RT oem mounts are too wide when mounted with the holes pointing out, and too narrow when faced inwards. they need to have the "45 to 90" bend above the holes. i have found a flat topped slider, i just need to sort out the proper side mount that has the right width (16 1/4")

I wonder if you could make it work with this and Recaro sliders?

we're going with a recaro slider with a custom fab'd mount rail, combined with a planted offset side mount. i'll post the results. i may race with my stock seats…. ;-)
