Almost makes The Ring look like a bargain when compared to COTA

Hallett at $1,500/weekday, $3,500/Weekend day seems a pretty appealing deal.

Guess that's why I love Waterford at $2250 for a weekday.

10 minutes from home.

Cheap testing days and development.

LRP has always been one of the most expensive tracks.

I was on the board of my PCA region when we started a DE program in 1989. At that time LRP on a Tuesday in June (full day) was $1600. We charged $60 per driver, had 60 drivers and made a ****-ton of money (excess revenue). Not any longer... Our program at LRP loses money with every event.

Yep. Went from ~$8500/day to $20K/day right after the last big repave (and before the paddock improvements) in 2008.

Barber was the first big track rental bill I ever saw in 2003. $20K/dayat that time, twice as much as any other track except Daytona, at the time.

The other part of track rental prices is that the price is often different for a race vs. a DE. They also have different weekday and weekend rates. Spectators add another level of expense. Even with those variables, I think the article is pretty good.
