Another "field of dreams?"
"Donnelly hoped to make Super DIRT Week the first major event held at his raceway, which, in addition to a 5/8th-mile synthetic dirt track, is to include a 2.2-mile road course, a 56-bay garage, and a five-story "command center" with a 300-seat restaurant, VIP suites and video production studio and offices.
Construction began a year ago on a 150-acre site between Route 11 and Interstate 81 south of Central Square. Much of the general layout of the dirt track, road course, pit area and parking areas have been cut out. Donnelly said he and his investors have spent $15 million on the project, including soft costs for such things as engineering services.
However, no construction has begun on the facility's grandstands or other buildings, and there is still a lot of work to be done to complete construction of the dirt track and road course. Lan-Co Cos., the North Syracuse developer who was the main contractor on the project, pulled out several weeks ago because it has not been paid $1.2 million it is owed."
Well, I'm hopeful that I'll visit Tamworth soon...

You've read about this track before. It's been posted here. It's a synthetic dirt track. Peter A penned the original version of it

... and road course. I live about 90 miles away and passby on my way to the syracuse airport. A tremendous amount of work has been done wrt preparing the base structure of the track itself, but all of the equipment disappeared about 2 months ago. Hopefully they'll get things worked out.

Seems like the going rate for building a 2+ mile road course is over $15MM.
That being said, I hope someone can inject capital or buy the project out of bankruptcy - more tracks in the area is never a bad thing for consumers like me!
