Where ever King Leh ends up I'll be a (except maybe the Italian trash) fan.

Anybody know: was Leh a paid driver or did he bring money (not that it was needed for that team) if he was paid, and the replacement is a Porsche Junior driver (that Porsche is probably funding) maybe there's the answer?

Leh is a fantastic driver and has proved himself time and again. From what I can tell, seems very low-key and grounded, too.

As an aside, WeatherTech seems like a great company that supports American manufacturing and jobs, but I've always thought that the company serving as the main sponsor for the race series (WeatherTech) also sponsoring one of the entries (Alex Job/WT) is a potential conflict of interest...

it doesn't have to be, for example Verizon sponsors both IndyCar and Will Power's car.

however, when the title sponsor is also a team sponsor and that team is sponsored by that company because the owner's kid is in the car....yes, that's a fairly big and obvious conflict IMO.

I don't believe Leh has *ever* paid to drive someone else's car. He was being paid.

Knowing what I do about series politics I can tell you that neither IMSA nor PMNA has shown the AJR/Weathertech team preferential treatment.

Agreed! As a matter of fact, the opposite is true, IMO. Witness Sebring last year...

While I respect immensely Leh's inimitable talent, this is David's team and his checkbook is paying for all of this. It's his decision and he is the underwriter of the team. Leh's contribution was valuable, but for whatever reason, the team chose to make a change.

I was absolutely being paid. I've never seen a team "release" a driver that's writing a check!!

I bet a number of teams are looking closely at this opportunity to put one of the very best in the business behind the wheel of their car.

I guess it a bit awkward other talking about your career on a forum. Regardless, hope you get a kicka$$ drive soon. Acura needs to jump at this to develop their NSX GT3 for 2017.....

Sorry Leh, I assumed that but it seems 9 times out of 10 when things happen that don't seem to make sense to us fans on the outside, it's usually a money thing...

Looking forward to following you wherever you land!!
