Default Renting a tow vehicle

Does anyone regularly rent a vehicle to tow their trailer? Any suggestions on which rental car agency may do so?

Thanks for any insight.

Don't do it regularly, but I used Enterprise Truck Rental when I blew a head gasket on my regular toe vehicle. It was a 3/4 ton gas. If you ask nice they'll waive the extra mileage charge.

I rented a GMC 1500 pick up and. Auto transporter several times from Uhaul recently to move my cayman around for some work.

The GMC made for a nice comfortable tow vehicle.

I just read a thread somewhere that said the Enterprise contracts have a no towing clause. Anyone confirm?

Wasn't the case a few years ago. I see Enterprise pickups with compressors and other construction equipment on their class 4 hitches frequently. But, they could have wised up...

I've rented a 3/4 ton Diesel from Capps before. Worked great.

Have rented from U-Haul and it is always a good experience. The main downside they charge $.50 per mile in addition to the rental cost. This can add up if you're going over 350 miles one way. As for the other companies all I know is don't ask.

I knew someone that would rented for each race, I think it was from Enterprise. He would normally try and get a 350 or 3500.

Enterprise Truck Rental Division. Rented an 2017 F250 Diesel, factory tow package, mid-level interior; strong, quiet and with unlimited miles. 6 days $368 total before fuel.

Maybe the truck rental division is the difference?

Enterprise truck rental, no issues. Have a few friends that use them all the time, cheaper than owning a dedicated tow vehicle.

I also have rented from Enterprise Trucks Rental. Towing is fine, they even have brake controllers for the trucks (and you can add an insurance option for towing issues). I'm renting again from them in a few weeks for Button Willow and will find out if there have been any changes but I think not. Since my rig is only a 20ft I usually just go with the F150 equivalent but you can also get a F250 if needed. Also I'm just talking bumper pull, no info or experience with 5th wheel etc.

How did you get a rate this low? My local one quotes $65 per day, with 100 miles included...
