Excellent, we might even need a reserve driver if for some reason someone can't make it. Better get your race licence and be on standby!

Sounds like a good plan, except...

I'm not sure the words restrainted, 9/10ths, and 214s belong in the same plan. They're not even road legal!

Ha ha, I was really just seeing if John was watching :-P

TBH I haven't done any real research on tyres yet. I understand there's limited choices in 16" for my wheels. At some stage I'll try the 17 track wheels which are running R888's

Rain has stopped and the others are waiting for me to join them for a walk.... Back later.

Two cool and mostly dry sessions today before the weather really packed it in. Knocked out a bunch of mid 1:19s, best was a 1:19.268, very close to being a 1:18.8x but mucked up T1 exit with small slide. Theoretical best is a 1:17.032, which looks plausible... just got to string together those good sectors. Chris's best from yesterday was a 1:17.620 with me weighing the car down, and a theoretical of 1:16.205... so got a bit of learning to go yet! Very much appreciate Chris giving up the car to me, most of the confidence is there now, much better than pootling around doing 1:30s which I started at yesterday.

Simple version is: brake later and less into T1 and T2, and brake early and less into T10. Need to review my video and make some detailed notes.

Impressive Matt, just 2 days in the car. Nail turn 1 and the sweeper and you will be all but there.

Attending the second day of a 70th birthday and under strict instructions not to touch my phone. Now home and catching up.

Doug, as long as you are above 1.19 on the AIM I'm happy to drive Herman at 7/10ths....

Should be fun! Reminds me of this video ... Perhaps us crew should practice as well. :-)

So we have four RSG regulars not going to Playday on the 7th?

I'm hoping Herman is ready but am mindful the previous 3 weeks have me in Chch and Dunedin so if Herman isn't back this week I'm up against it to order parts, fit them and arrange an alignment.

Do we have enough certain people to make a go of this?

Dave - any progress photos mate?

You need to show your collection of p*rn that is giving inspiration for the interior finishes too??

Are you still thinking brown or going back to black??

I reckon you should investigate and consider tartan interior??

It'll be the first dedicated RSG day since Feb - while some of us were in the SI there are others who haven't had the same opportunity. I had a strong response to email so on that basis I have committed to the 7th.

Not sure of progress, going there tomorrow. Brown is still on but much harder to pull off than black. Still considering black and houndstooth or pasha but quite fixated on a light and airy feel to the cabin. Amassing samples and doing a real girlie interior deco colour board. Working through the interior detail, lots of ideas but have to restrain a bit to avoid looking like a hippie's trinket shop sans the burning incense. Lots of cnc'd bronze anodised aluminium etc. Got seat prices from the states, real nice but how I want them runs to 10% of the build cost so might make my own from existing fibreglass seat shells and local trimming. The car can't do the modern race bucket look so will be somewhat retro'ed.
