I hear you on this one. Pre-covid, I did try to buy one but no one ever told me the secret handshake and password.

The current plan is for the carbon tax to increase again April 1st (no this is not a joke).

I did hear a joke yesterday that applies, just call it 'Justinflation'.

$2L will be a powerful psychological threshold.

Not only Justinflation, but empty shelves due to product shortages are imminent.

I was at the grocery store this morning, shelves were getting bare. Not yet sure if it was a result of the recent snow storm or issues with truckers crossing the boarder. Prices have been on the rise for some time now.

4.8% inflation rate? My a**

Another self inflicted wound. We are led by incompetent idiots.

Fruit and Veggie Outages in Canada Get Worse With Trucker Shortages

Canada’s turning away unvaccinated U.S. truckers at the border, and it’s causing chaos in fresh produce markets

Trucking is a major problem now between Canada and US. Carriers refusing US bound freight. And vice versa with US imposing vaccine requirement for Canada truckers entering US. When you can find a carrier, rates are crazy.

The worst of the pandemic from a business POV is 3Q21 to now and will be ongoing.

Edit - this is on top of driver shortages in the US that has been happening for 2-3 years now.

New Yukon Denali XL are hard to find. My buddy has had one on order for months and months. New independent rear suspension is a game changer. Flattens the floor.

The 10 speed transmissions have helped a lot with fuel economy.
My wfie's Expedition with the Ecoboost is remarkably fuel efficient. I think it's better than my 2003 540i and it'll fit 7 in comfort plus cargo plus has 9000# tow rating.
Even the F150s with the V8s, we have 3 2021s in the corporate fleet, are pretty great.
Also have a 2021 F250 Diesel. The thing is a tank. It just chugs. Great on fuel too.
Land Cruiser terrible but excels at other things and we use it for htat.

Self righteous much?
Look beyond Toronto. People have functional uses for wanting trucks and SUVs.
If towing, long wheelbase is more stable and safer.
Snow? In Ottawa we get a lot more than Toronto. The ground clearance with AWD and winter tires make a truck or SUV an unbeatable combination.
I have a car to drive downtown when I need to.
