Porsche been using the term "Turbo" very loosely. Seems to mean "Extra Performance" these days.

You can build one on the configurator now. A nicely optioned "Turbo S" sets you back $250K. Crazy. So what happens in a few years, when the batteries get better and you can fully recharge the car in 5 minutes. Do these earlier iterations become obsolete?? I ask as a total ignoramus.

Yes. Or they get retrofitted.

ISTM you could use the same logic to say that an ICE car will be even more obsolete in a few years.

I don't know anything about engineering or electricity but with all the computer controlled aspects of these I wonder if people will be able to upgrade batteries?

I mean it won't be in the OEM's best interest.

If it is possible on some EVs then that's going to be a great business.

The current iteration of the Taycan is already pretty much strictly superior to an ICE car, despite taking 20 minutes to charge (once infrastructure rolls out). (The vast majority of the time you'll charge at home, and a 20-minute 5%-20% is definitely fast enough to facilitate road trips.) So if a new, faster-charging Taycan makes this one obsolete, that will mean other cars are even more obsolete.
