Default Sad news - Cyclist killed

Cyclist killed by Porsche a couple of days ago while crossing on-ramp, Third Line northbound onto eastbound 403, close to Porsche Center of Oakville

I am familiar with this on-ramp and the pedestrian marking there as I go by there on the way home from office, hardly Any pedestrian or cyclist cross there, however it doesn’t mean attention does not need to be paid by drivers, pedestrians or cyclists.

Bad PR when a Porsche was involved in a fatal crash with a much more vulnerable cyclist, hope excessive speed was not one of the factors involved.

Cyclist killed by physics should be the headline. Who is at fault has not been determined.

I don't get why they need to report it was a "Porsche driver", like somehow driving a Porsche makes you less (or more?) responsible for the accident. Would they call out a "Ford driver" in the same manner?

Porsche drivers are a lot more cautious and better drivers then most other people driving in these streets!

I have no issue with the headline ...

Cyclist dead after she was struck by driver in Oakville

yes the Porsche was mentioned later and you often read the vehicle after in details... i often read " hit by Ford SUV" or "pickup truck" further in, in these types of stories.

I think we need to take a collective deep breath and realize no , the Porsche driver is not being singled out. They even made a point of saying driver remained at the scene to talk to Police, they didn't have to say that either....

If you drive anywhere where there are cars you take matters into your own hands ..... Drivers in general are blind unskilled morons and you are totally exposed with zero power to avoid any on coming situation. Cyclists and cars / trucks don't mix ..... Period .... Even bike lanes creep me out because cars take out cyclists there also. Screw riding near or with traffic ......20yrs ago maybe now a days not a chance .... Too mental out there .. If i get the luxury i would prefer to pick my own demise .

Sad for the unfortunate woman who died and I very much doubt if her loved ones would be in the least engaged about the brand of vehicle involved. Further, we have no idea about the circumstances.

Is this the woman who told the parole board she would never drink again?

So... it must have been you that spread the infection to a bunch of nursing homes and killed a number of seniors, right?

There are jokes, banter and arguments, and then there are idiots that clearly don't know when sarcasm is inappropriate. Someone killed a woman, and this moron is making jokes about it. Would you be just as flippant if it was your wife that had died while we make "jokes" that it was someone on the board here that killed her (see nincompoop)?
