Wow, imo, $89k ask is way too high for a car with such a big claim.

Wait until the border restrictions lift. Go to the US and find a nice clean car. With full leather.....

For that kind of a claim and the price on the car, I would walk. For just an S, that seems like a very high price for a 2013 even if it was pristine!

Look at all the chatter here about why someone wouldn’t buy it.
All those concerns will come up again when you are trying to resell this car.
At 9oK, I’d find another one. There are lots out there. At 30k, that would be a deal.
Look at what you have learned here.

I've already walked at this point - I appreciate the input from everyone. I think i was just hoping it was an error, till I received the service report. The hunt will continue - stock seems very limited in Canada at the moment.

You can have my 2019 TT for 500k if you're really desperate.

Price is firm.

This situation demonstrates one of the advantages of leasing a 911. After that accident repair, one would have had the option at lease end to hand the keys back to Porsche, and the issue of diminished value becomes their problem.

+1. You self insure for diminshed value if you own AFAIK.

sorry can you explain this, as it makes no sense to me? Diminished value is not offered as a separate add on in Ontario btw. Anyone not at fault can go after dv.

having assisted with diminished value claims successfully, I am aware of DV. I am not aware of how you "self insure for diminished value"- as previously mentioned- please explain.

but there is zero chance as a private seller down the road, you will be able to get out of that car without losing your shirt.

in the Porsche world, losing money on a car is rare.
but that is 100% for sure, the exception.

at any price, that is a hard no.

I did say "as far as I know". I am no expert. I thought in Alberta you were sol on dimished value. What I mean is that your out of pocket for your value loss as the owner yourself. That's what I was told recently. Must be different in Ontario? Can't imagine going up against an insurance company. Must be a nightmare.
