I recently just got insurance on my 944 with Hagerty. I'm with Desjardins for my daily driver and they wanted almost $900+ for the year on the 944. Hagerty offered $520 for the year for the 944. Hoping for a positive experience with them.

Funny, I looked at switching to Hagerty and it was going to be 250/yr more. Again, basic rate is nearly 1.5x Hagerty but when I suspend collision and liability for 6 months it ends up being cheaper.

FWIW the difference in cost between 1M and 2M liability is usually very small, especially on classic car policies where the mileage will be low. Even on a regular policy the difference tends to be well under $100/yr IME. The higher you go, the less the difference becomes too (as the likelihood of using it drops further). So if you want, you can usually get 3M or sometimes even 5M for not much more. (But the likelihood of needing it becomes even more vanishingly small.) I usually go for 2 or 3.

Reviving this thread from the dead to add my 2022 renewal notice with Hagerty Canada..so my insurance went up by....gulp.... roughly 30% this year to $2K/year!!! Plus the Valuation fee and the "Club" fee. I have agreed value of $140K on my '97 C4S and have no accidents or tickets on my record. Sucks, but then again, I guess this is the byproduct of the rediculous values these days... Vintage won't touch 993s specifically when I inquired back in early 2020, something about too much fraud, so stuck with Hagerty for now.

^dude, I pay about the same(9-10 months full coverage and 2-3 'reduced liability for winter) with I think 25k yearly mileage and a 230k appraisal on file... Hagerty ain't it...

I should be getting my policy update shortly. I’m a little worried hearing these stories of 30%.

Sorry, I may have missed it, but which firm are you with?

@993GT Have your rates with TD been consistent? I often read here on Rennlist and other local forums that they bait you with a sweet rate in year 1 and subsequent renewals they hike the prices. Thanks in advance!

And they're FANTASTIC to deal with if you have an issue, had a couple idiots hit old winter beaters of mine and they actually seemed like they cared and made sure I was happy with the outcome..never complain no matter how often I swap cars etc.. no affiliation at all, just happy customer

Wow, thanks for the feedback. I'm with Intact and into my 6th year. The rates have been consistent and service has been good but I feel it's time for me to shop around a little more seriously.
