Default Where To Buy Tires in Canada

Hi all,

I need to replace my tires (245/35/20 & 305/30/20)

Currently have Pirelli and wanted to switch to Michelin PS4S but availability is rough and I can’t find N0 tires only a weird combo of Ferrari front and Ford rear.

I have center locks so I’m a bit restricted on the installer but I’m open to sourcing tires from anywhere.

Any leads on PS4S or other tires I could consider? I only drove me car on nice days etc so I suppose Cup2s could be an option?

I usually buy mine at Costco. Take the wheels off the car and take them there without the car.

Try Ben at JRP, they have always delivered for me....

IMHO, Cup2's are fine if there is no rain/standing water (ask me how I know!) or temps below 10 degrees...

Cheers!

If you are in Toronto area...Tires23. Bought a few sets last year. They are good are sourcing tires and can bring them in from other shops, part of a network that share inventory or something like that. I didn't ask for details but that's what it sounded like when were sourcing sizes for one of my sets. Not to mention a good line in with the manufacturers.

Braidan Tire / Braidan Motorsport (again, if you are in the GTA).

I would not run Cup2s primarily as a street tire (getting to and from Mosport is a different story if you're doing a lot of track days, but not as a street tire).

I'm not in the GTA, so I order online at PMC tire or quattro tire out of Quebec.

Third CEO tire, had a great experience with them on new tires for my Macan. Best price and super fast install. They were able to source Michelin N2 tires very quickly (next day) so will come down to supply on the PS4S in the GTA.

PMC Tire is the first place I tend to check. I just picked up a set of 19" PS4S there. Unfortunately their website doesn't tell you the difference between the various manufacturer-specific skus for a given tire; they can tell you via email if they have the N-spec tire though. FWIW I'd go for the generic PS4S over a different tire in N spec.

I got a flat on my 992 a couple months ago. Ended up cheaper to get at the dealer than ordering online.

I'd caution on the PS4S by default, especially non N spec.

I have had PS4S and MPSS (years ago) on cars. Great tire, no doubt.

But choosing it by default based on general praise can be a bad decision depending on what you are after. I put new tires on my 993 C2S last year, went with PS4S. I was disappointed with the road feel as compared to the PZeros that were on it. Soft, compound and sidewall difference. Swapped them out for N3 spec PS2....immediate difference in road feel and cornering handling. So PS4S IMO should not be a default choice.

My advice is think about the application and your requirements, then do tire research and choose one.

+1 for PMC Tire though they tend to show tires that they don't have in stock.

Perry Competition for track tires too.
