Ontario to West Coast round trip
I have a new to me 15 Boxster GTS with 14k mileage and I’m thinking of doing a return road trip from London On to Victoria BC this summer. As I’m new to a Porsche, is this a reasonable trip in this car? What should I expect and what should I be aware of as far as car reliable goes? Driving around the local country side is one thing, but, driving 8k is something else! Would appreciate some feedback by those that have put some mileage on their Porsches. Thank you for your input.

I haven't done the cross country thing yet, but intend to see my bro in Fernie, BC, perhaps this summer. It is a totally reasonable trip. I find the seats in my Cayman very comfortable, and I have no worries about driving 10-12 hours per day.
You might want to read the P9 account of the fellow that did Ottawa-BC in his Boxster back in 2015. Very detailed writeup.

A couple of things to think about having with you.
Tire repair kit, scissor jack, jump starter, up to date auto club membership in case you need a tow, GPS for the cell phone dead zones (unless you have NAV).

Awesome trip! You'll be fine. I drove my 997.2 C4S from Calgary to Toronto pre-covid and the car was a joy to road trip. I did the drive solo over 4 days with 10hours of driving and kept to the TCH the entire time. If I had more time I think I would've tried to keep off the Trans Canada and seen some more of the country off the beaten path. Like any long distance road trip, be prepared for emergencies; have CAA or some sort of roadside assistance available, GPS unit for areas with no cell reception (lots of those stretches), water/snacks, fave playlists and a camera. There is also a website that lists all the popular speed traps on the TCH in other provinces - despite noting those I got nabbed in Manitoba..ouch. One thing to note, finding Ultra94 was really tough between Manitoba and Sault Ste Marie - there will be instances where you have to put in 88/89 octane.
Enjoy, sounds like an epic ride!

Drove my old 15 S Box round trip from Victoria to Calgary a couple years back. Very comfortable ride. I would def make sure you have solid tread on your tires and maybe mask or ppf the front nose. Lots of potential for stone chips. Also lots of windshield washer fluid as you'll be collecting bugs!!! Def get a CAA or similar.
Porsche Victoria is a good dealership if you have any probs. Our local Porsche club does cars and Coffee Sunday mornings 9-10:30 at

I just did 3,000 Km’s in my 87 928. I do several long trips every year and have never broken down. Just make sure all the fluids are good and that the coolant system and hoses are all in good shape (which they should be with only 14k).
I always pack some tools, tire plug kit, rubber gloves, zip ties etc. Oil is good to bring as well since gas stations likely won’t have the correct viscosity. If you get into some spirited driving in the Rockies you may burn a little extra.
RainEx for all the glass.
And a CAA membership.
