I tend to agree. He's not experienced enough or of the right temperament to be in that event.
Just my opinion. Kinda reminds me of Eddy the Eagle ( ski jumper from the UK during the Winter Olympics) many years ago.

Agreed. Too much self doubt, apologizing all the time, kind of annoying. You just want to shake him and get him in the game already. Easy for me to say though...

I haven't watched the entire series but managed to catch up from Season 3 and fully caught up to date to Season 4.
If someone could shed the light for me, I am curious how Fassbender managed to get into the sport. He's driving with some amazing drivers in Season 4 and what appears to be the same solid team backing him.

Evidently he is a movie star.
However, I think the series is really illustrative about the differences between professional drivers and amateurs.
Of course the guy could easily outdrive a regular driver like me, but the videos are about good drivers vs great drivers. I have had the opportunity to have laps with professional drivers and it is amazing how humbling it is. I think the vids do a good honest job on documenting this.

Thanks for that.
Aside from the fact that he's a movie star, is he dropping loads of cash on to Proton where they won't say no to him?

Ah, I didn't think of it from that perspective given the series appears to be bank rolled by Porsche. Perhaps Porsche wanted to tell the story of the trials and tribulations of an amateur celebrity racer as part of its story telling formula. Otherwise, I don't think there'd be much of a story to tell.
This is slightly off topic, but how did Patrick Dempsey get into the sport and having his name associated with Proton?
