I guess that is better than the club. still a pain to install every time you park and it looks like the thiefs can still cut the wheel and remove the device. Pretty sure he is going for an aftermarket alarm.

True - but if there are 4 of the same truck within a 3k radius I'm guessing the one with the wheel lock thing would be the last to go. The same reason most have home security cameras/lights - definitely doesn't stop someone braking in to your house but assuming what you have inside your house is the same as your neighbour with no alarm, me thinks they will get dinged first. I could be 180 degrees wrong but I doubt it.

buddy of mine runs an auto/rv/boat A-V/alarm business, he's done alotttt of installs for the the TRX's, since they get stolen like candybars...

Forget the steering wheels locks and clubs, they just cut the wheel and it is off in a few minutes. Just happened in my neighbourhood in Oakville last week. Cameras don't deter them either anymore. We have tons of theft vidoes on our neighbourhood FB page. Park in the garage, kill switch or killer alarm systems seem to be the only solutions now.

I'd look into the ghost immobiliser systems that require a code / key sequence to be used for start up. Not sure if a euro style parking bollard is an option but it's a big visual deterrent.

At the end of the day, no system, alarm, club, or security cameras will give your friend 100% protection. The reality is these 100k + trucks are a huge target right now. So best to look at a multi-layer approach, alarm, club, and lots of lights.
But if this is gonna cause sleepless nights either get that thing in a garage or drive something that is not a target.

Has anyone used the TAG trackers?....they install multiple trackers and there is no monthly fee. Mandatory in Quebec apparently but have no knowledge re Ontario.

I like the fuel pump switch but a couple of years ago I was pitched by a guy that developed an immobilizer that killed the ignition after 30 seconds. The sequence was triggered by the dome light and was cancelled by a voltage pulse from a choice of points such as the mirror switch, pwr windows switches. The logic of the system was to protect against carjacking and the delay was to put distance between the jacker and the legal driver. It was called Auto Angel, don’t know if anyone picked up on the product.
