Border Crash
I'm guessing it was a stuck throttle in a 500+ hp car and he did not know what to do or panicked.
Remember folks - with a stuck throttle, brakes, turn off ignition, neutral or any combination. Brakes may not work well because of no manifold vacuum under full throttle. Just press hard. The owners manual in my GPZ900R says just pull in the clutch and let the rev limiter do its thing!
I know 2 people who have crashed because the power steering pump failed. I tell my wife, children, just steer even tho the effort will be much greater

I had the experience many years ago with a stuck throttle on a then-new Honda Prelude 5 speed.. -jammed straight down.
The worry was that turning off the ignition fully would lock the steering as the anti-theft lock would activate while depressing the clutch would mean the engine would have a disastrous overrev.
I very carefully turned the ignition a half turn and that did the trick without blowing the engine.
Clutch in let it bite gradually to slow down, while braking Very shallow into the curve as big weight transfer but rolled to a stop.
Bit nerve-wracking actually.

according to car and driver, a gt3 rs will go 0-150-0 mph in 24 seconds, 5 seconds of which is braking from 150 mph.
In all cars, the brakes are much more powerful than the engine.
Tomorrow, I'm going to see what happens with push button ignition if you press the button in gear and moving

The couple who died were driving a 2022 Bentley Flying Spur, and indeed one of the theories is that the accelerator pedal got stuck in a pressed position.

While moving pressing ignition button in my Audi will do nothing. Bentley is probably same since they share VAG systems.
Best bet it to take it out of gear, and come to a safe stop.
If someone is unfamiliar gently presses brakes, there is a risk of overheating and having no brakes.

I've had one instance of brake fade in my life. It was in an '85 westfalia, trying to control speed on a very steep and kilometers long mountain downhill. Still have the car, but I replaced the pads with "yellow stuff" racing pads. Interestingly, it takes the same brake pads as an 80's 911

the brakes are WAY more powerful than the engine and furthermore on every modern car it is required to cut 'all' power if brakes are touched while accelerating(this can be tuned out and pedal sequence also matters if you want to power brake) , and the ignition button SHOULD turn off the engine if you press and hold

You may not easily be able to find the button tho if you are in a panic, or not familiar with the car

Read a story last night that said that this was a 2022 Bentley. There was a recall of 2018-2021right hand drive Bentleys for sticking accelerators. Apparently the couple killed were super nice community oriented people that everyone in Grand Island new.

All jokes and theories aside, what should one do if this happened in a 992?
Slam on brakes and jump out of the car? Could kill someone else but increase your chance of survival
I assume on a 997 and older pulling the handbrake would just make it spin
