Default OT- Any Q5 owners here

Just curious if anyone has a 2018 or 2019 Q5. I am looking at buying one. So far these years seem to be much better than the early versions. I was shocked to learn that Audi's CPO is now only 1 year 20k, but I guess it's better than nothing.

This is anecdotal evidence but one of my team members had (emphasis on the past tense) a 2019 Q5. Just before the lease return period, the engine blew up on his way to work. While it was covered under warranty, Audi had to ship a new engine for replacement from Germany. He ended up getting a 2023 Q5.

I prefer the drive of the X3 M40i. Much more fun IMO.

Had a 2014 Q5, traded in for a 2018 SQ5.. couple cars in between and now enjoying my Macan GTS. Overall my experience with the Q5/SQ5 was really great - both of mine were reliable, comfortable to drive, quite well appointed for the price. Not nearly as fun to drive as my Macan, but a similarly spec'd SQ5 is a solid $20k less than even a Macan S. If I couldn't swing the Macan, I would happily be driving an Q5 from the 18/19 model years.

I found one, and put down a deposit to hold it. Will see it next week to seal the deal. 2018 Technik with 35,000 km's with CPO 1 year/20k warranty. Going to surprise the wifey on Christmas.

Well done - Nice surprise!
I bought a 2019 Technic new at end of 2019 and it has been almost perfect. It has exceeded all expectations. Only issue has been a false brake wear notification caused by moisture and corrosion inside sensor connectors. Tough diagnosis but easy fix.

We enjoy our Q5. Perfect size vehicle for my wife, and drives great! I put a rubber cover (from Amazon) on top of the rear bumper to avoid scratches from softball/hockey equipment going in. Make sure to do frequent oil changes with those engines.

10-17 had the most oil-burning issues. My 15 Golf R was using 1l per 1000k when I sold it.

Finally saw the car today to seal the deal.

- Dealer did some paint work in the driver door and top of rear bumper. Bumper paint will be an issue down the road as they just painted over top.
- Paint measures 15ml all over. Only original paint on the hood and hatch
- AWD failed on test drive. Dealer first said I could not scan but then they let me. Clutch pack B is stuck engage.
- Dealer says clean Carfax and that they don’t meter paint. Lol

Im gonna think for an hour or two but will most likely ask for my deposit back,

ugh
