Macan EV Thread
We have a general EV thread, so I’d like this one to stay on topic of the Macan EV less the political stuff please. I bought a first year Macan S and the refresh year S that I still have. The Macan S has been my favourite year-round daily and I have told my dealer that I want one of the final year ICE Macans when we know what year that will be. That said, I do like the new EV. I’m not sold on EVs yet, but I want to hear real world impressions of the Macan EV once we have some members who get to drive one.
Here is a good technical video of the EV from Savagegeese…

It is an important car for Porsche no doubt. I am also in the wait and see category. I think longer term there willl be powerful new entries into the EV field so not jumping yet. My Cayenne is 2022 so I would not be in the market for anything currently.
If there were a Smart-sized city runabout EV I would get one to replace the Smart for downtown but nobody has one of those available here. I think this will sell very well however.

I agree and think it will sell well. Unfortunately, the base Macan owners will be priced out of the mine-up…
Does the Taycan have a sound-track also?

It seems like a pretty good product, but the price is a miss for me. The closest equivalent to the electric Macan 4 is the ICE macan S which is $22K cheaper with no luxury tax. I'm interested to see what the other PPE platform offerings will look like and be priced at. Audi Q6, A6 especially.

I'm not a fan of the rear hatch shape. Reminds me a lot like the tesla model y.
Price is out to lunch imo. I just spec'd a base macan ev to mirror my wife's base 22 macan and it's like 135k
I think we paid around 70k otd. I don't beleive this is worth 2x.

It looks like a rebranded Audi. My sales guy has me on the list for a Turbo but when my Taycan lease is up I may just go for a Tesla, half the price, no luxury tax.

maybe in 3-4yrs we'd buy a used Macan EV..... if it's anything like the Audi Etron it should take a pretty big hit in depreciation

It is a re-branded Audi. Go for the Tesla - Macan EV for over 100K seems pricey. I would take a Lotus Eletre for the same price over the Turbo Macan 100%

Almost bought a 2019 Audi Etron for about 50% off, but Audi Canada wouldnt sell it to me with a 1yr extended warranty due to open battery recall.
Wife's now driving a slightly used 2023 Genesis GV60, after 12 yrs of being in a diesel q7

test drove the model y a couple months back.... good value, but weird controls. I think the latest refresh, they got rid of the turn signal stalk?

Priced one as well - Macan 4 at $126k + tx ... not sure I can get my head around it. $150k for the "Turbo" which is really a faster car on a battery platform. Kind of ridiculous really. Anyway they'll sell but not for me today anyways.
