truth. before I bought my car 2 years ago I was looking to order a new but not well spec'd 718 cayman S, around $5-10K over MSRP. I was told 2-3 years for an allocation and my perception was don't hold your breath.

Porsche just released a number of allocations to U.S. dealers as I'm seeing on the 992 section. Likely best to call a ton of dealers across the country and see where you land.
I lucked out with a buddy hooking me up on my 24 Carrera T (ordered Jan.16, locked Feb.12, built Feb.23, port of Emden Feb.26th, shipped March 6th and now sitting in Halifax). Crazy fast!

FWIW. I walked into PCO today and ordered a C4S for July delivery. They had a changeable build.

Thanks. There seems to be a number of changeable allocations popping up. I wonder if these were cancellations or bloated builds for inventory that the dealer got cold feet on? I’ve now seen 2 low option new 992’s in inventory and I haven’t seen those since 2021.

-C4S
-GT silver
-Spyder wheels
-Sport package
-full leather
-glass roof (I wouldn't for myself but for resale)
-bose
-heated GT steering wheel
-18-way seats
-carbon trim
Not a stripper but no PTS, fancy lights, safety systems, Exclusive manufacture stuff and whatnot...
I think it's basically the Porsche equivalent of resale red LOL

Getting a configurable allocation is only half the challenge; the kicker comes when you try to spec a low-option car and get dealer blowback. I was contacted by a dealer mentioned here who had a Boxster GTS 4.0 allocation...I submitted a config with about $6k in options (a GTS already comes with a bunch of standard features that are options on bases and S cars) and long story short was advised the "target" was $26k in options. LOL...$26k in cra* on a car with an MSRP (including luxury tax and all shipping costs etc.) of $114,900? Surprise, surprise, the allocation went to someone else.
