How long is realistic wait time for a C4Sin current market for new porsche buyer in G
Hello all. I have never owned porsche car but now financially can afford 911 c4s. I paid $5000 deposit at porsche north toronto location and sale agent told me the wait is 2 year. But i have no history buying porsche, do you guys think my wait time will be longer than 2 years for a new c4s as new buyer ?

when I started looking in early 2022 I was told 2-3 years for a new cayman or 911. you were lucky to find a dealer with an allocation. no allocation, no new car. rather than slap down a deposit you might have looked around as some dealers have new cars sitting on their lots that might not be spoken for yet. porschefinder.com is useful. personally if you can afford new you could also have looked at something around 1-2 years old and saved a bunch.

I know for a fact if you were to call Porsche Centre Saskatchewan they have a changeable C4S allocation!
I just got another 911 form them and they told me they have it!

PFAFF had allocation for C4S recently and they contact me but have to pay dealership markup so I decline.

I would call Lyle Glessing at Porsche of Saskatchewan. Very nice guy and totally transparent. I think he can get you a car very quickly - as in months. Even if you get one locally next year, the price increase will be more than shipping or driving the car to Ontario. No mark-up at Saskatewan, but they look for $20k - $30k in options. I asked my local SA about this practice last week and he told me that PCNA has set aggressive option targets for dealers on an average order basis. Larger dealers can afford to have a few low spec cars because of their larger volumes. I doubt I will ever order a new 911, as I don’t car about fluffy options in general. My builds have maybe $10k in options and I get the distinct feeling that an order like that would never get picked up and I would be on the “list” forever.

Well , there is at least one positive aspect. We are not far from a Gen 2 version of the 992 which looks like a fair sized upgrade so you will likely get the new model .

There is a speccable allocation for a c4gts at downtown Toronto now, lock in date is April 26th I believe.
it’s easier to get an allocation elsewhere than pcnt. Pcnt got way more clients on file nowadays than before.

Guys with more options definitely move up the list and guys trying to build low option cars will be waiting forever.
Demand is high it makes sense.
Sask is good, I dealt with them a bit they are straight shooters.

And that’s the rub for me…I like the Carrera T because it is supposed to be a simple spec…but I can’t order that!

PCNT has 3 brand new 992s for sale right now. That was un heard of 2 years ago.
understand a C4S might be more popular given the price tag vs a turbo, but cant imagine a 2-3 year wait when bottle necks are depleting and Lux tax pushing buyers away.
I put my deposit down in late 2021 for a C2s and picked it within a year and a half.
PCNT was great to deal with, good luck !

Two years is not bad. In some ways the wait and anticipation is part of the process. Just make sure to follow up regularly, without pestering, and maybe visit the dealer once in a while to build up a relationship. Without brownnosing obviously. It's a balance. It took ~2 years from deposit to my own delivery for a well optioned Cayman 4.0 GTS. Enjoy!

I am ok with waiting if I can get the spec I want and sometimes there are advantages . I put firm deposits down for a Cayenne GTS and a 992RS before the dreaded luxury tax and got both of them after it was in effect without having to pay it.
Cayenne was exactly to spec but they were unable to get ceramics on the RS and could not do factory delivery. Not a huge deal .
