Default Porsche Dealer Pass Through Challenges

Hey GTA’ers (and Cdns), have any of you had your Porsche dealer refuse a pass through to a cash buyer?

I’ve got a 718 Spyder that I’m trading in for a new factory order Porsche. Dealer has offered me below market for my car and I have a cash buyer lined up at fair value, but the dealer is saying the haven’t done pass throughs since Covid. My Spyder was bought and serviced at the very same dealer its whole life… obviously, I’d like the tax-savings.

Curious on feedback before I push/escalate.

cheers!

Some are refusing, others are charging ridiculous amounts to do one. Just another case of Covid driven dealer arrogance.

My local dealership basically refused it.

Was buying a CPO car. Had a buyer lined up for my trade-in. Both cash. Buyer was also a good customer of the dealership [992 Touring and RS owner good] and they basically wanted to make $60k on the deal. Used an independent dealer for the transaction. A little more painful, but got done.

Took the car in for a warranty item and it got done without any issues.

In the last couple of years I think Porsche have shown people really how greedy they are and are not really interested in Customer Service ... just cash.

Same thieves that want $999 or something ridiculous like that on an Audi lease end return. With each passing year they truly earn the "stealership" reputation.

PCNT doesn't do them anymore at all, I asked before selling my Macan S to a friend before my GTS arrived. Something about how these transactions lower their overall profitability on an average basis so the $1500-2000 or whatever isn't worth it. Considering they probably make $5-10k (or more) on a used vehicle transaction I get it.

I personally don't have an issue with this as I get the reasoning... others may disagree of course.

Haven’t had an issue but the price has shot up. Pfaff and PCO have done it for me but it’s been more than 18 months since I last did a transaction.
Audi of Brampton are doing it for me in my RS6. $1000

they are serving their Metrics and metrics are focussed on shareholder value . , not their customer... in my mind they have lost their way , it is the same as our company.

Customer service has gone by the wayside. I think they are feeling the pinch with interest rates and are trying to make it up in other ways. Pfaff has like a million cars on their lot. Can't be cheap holding that much inventory.

It’s what I feared… I somewhat understand, but still frustrating. Thanks for all the feedback!

Don’t feel sorry for them…they are trying to coerce you into giving them your trade in. It’s costing them money not to accommodate your request, but that’s on them! Accepting a fee might lower their profit/transaction, but refusing lowers their profit…period.
