Cayman/Boxster phased out in Europe

This is quite shocking to me. A lot of people start their Porsche experience with entry level cars. New Euro regulations have already killed the Macan there, and this is another blow. No word on whether they will continue the line in other markets, but that's it for Euro delivery of any of these models

Funny, this doesn't shock me one bit...

Next gen is electric. 2025 I thought. So a one year ban I guess.

Can't imagine them discontinuing sales in markets where ICE competition remains. This implies only where regulations dictate but who knows - these are disturbing times. Sure will enhance used market prices.

European Stocks Portfolio: an investment of 1$, since April 1994, now would be worth 7.91$, with a total return of 690.82% (7.14% annualized).
US Stocks Portfolio: an investment of 1$, since April 1994, now would be worth 19.94$, with a total return of 1894.37% (10.49% annualized).

The end of the Cayman/Boxster ICE model is fine by me. End of an era. To be celebrated and not mourned.
EV boxster/cayman will make for interesting runabouts and have their place in the market.
what i really like is how this will most likely rally the pre owned cayman/boxster market.
get em while there’re hot!

There is a reason why Europe always lags the US...

I was just in France with a rental BMW iX we got in Geneva and charging it was way cheaper than diesel or gas at 2€ a litre. Not even the fuel savings for me but rather its just a nicer driving experience

This isn't about EV vs. Non-EV. It's a cyber security regulation that applies across the entire EU to all cars. The 718 is just an aging platform that would cost too much to bring up to the current standards.
