took my company car with company gas to Buffalo ,
Parked like a km away so had free parking.
Actually had 2 tickets , so had a spot for my coat lol.
Bought dinner and three pints at the brewery next to the Arena and met some really cool people at the bar .. i noticed later they only charged me for 2 pints , was 40.00 CAD all in .
Paid i think 8.00 CAD to cross the Bridge.

Whole day out cost me about 200.00 Canadian and had a fantastic day out , and will definitely do it again .

yes i have some benefits some dont. But it is possible to enjoy i day out watching hockey if you put some effort in.

went Ottawa In january to watch Bruins and Rangers ( unfortunately they were playing Ottawa. )

Went with a Buddy , including Hotel room for 2 nights ... 500.00 all in.

so it can be done.

Similar experience
Saw Tampa Bay Buc's play the Panthers last year in Tampa. 2 tickets $188 USD centre ice 1/2 way up. Reserved parking in outdoor lot across the road $35 USD. All in $223. I'm heading to St. Petes next week and I may see a playoff game if the Bucs are still in the playoffs.

My seasons tix, 108, 16, 5&6, had basically the mirror image on the bench side for the first round, have platinums for the second round.
