Default 993/964 Cabriolet Replacement Cost?

I'm looking at a 993 Cab that has a small hole in the top from the alignment pins. From what I can see on-line, this is about a $4,000 - $5,000 job with top, cables, headliner and labour. Anyone do one lately that can confirm? The top is also inoperable and that looks like another $3,000 - $4,000 if it needs motors and microswitches. Who know cabs were so expensive to maintain!

My inoperable top on my 997 was $3500 all in 2 years ago - all mechanical fix only. Thankfully fabric and liner etc did not need fix or replacement.

Thanks! Damn these things are expensive to repair!!! I was watching some videos on them last night and they are pretty complex compared to my old power tops on GM muscle cars.

If only you had something valuable to sell that was simply laying around collecting dust all your troubles would be over...

LOL...had that same thought! Actually, I have 2 forum members interested in the Daytona and I am thinking about letting it go. However, I think I'll buy a car first and then decide. I doubt it will lose any value if I keep it a while longer.

Had a good experience with New Image Auto Interiors.

Supplied my own top and was $600 in labour back in 2019

Thanks. I see that they get a lot of recommendations. I'm going to give them a call.

Edit: Spoke to Serge. $1200 - $1500 for just the top install if I supply the top. $2,000 if it needs the headliner and cables replaced. Tops are US$869 and headliners US$359 plus shipping. So, about $4,000 plus tax complete.

I keep my fingers crossed that this doesn’t happen to me, but once fixed it should last for years. The top is an expensive repair but 993 Cabs come at a serious discount to coupes. It is a cheap entry point to one of the best 911 ranges, perhaps the most desirable.

I believe Porsche's procedure to fix the sunroof in the 993 coupe is to cut the roof off.
You are getting off lucky!
