Its not significant, but it is a step in the right direction. Here’s the complete list of areas where speed limits are set to increase:

• Hwy 401, Tilbury, extending the existing 110 km/h zone further east by 7 km
• Hwy 401 from Hwy 35/115 to Cobourg (a stretch of approximately 35 km)
• Hwy 401 from Colborne to Belleville (approximately 44 km)
• Hwy 401 from Belleville to Kingston (approximately 66 km)
• Hwy 401 from Hwy 16 to Quebec boundary (approximately 107 km)
• Hwy 403 from Woodstock to Brantford (approximately 26 km)
• Hwy 403 from Brantford to Hamilton (approximately 14.5 km)
• Hwy 406 from Thorold to Welland (approximately 13 km)
• Hwy 416 from Hwy 401 to Ottawa (approximately 70 km)
• Hwy 69 from Sudbury to French River (approximately 60 km)

actually i think they all do .. to me these are all "remote" sections of the 400 series highways .
Cambridge to Mississauga is already a dragstrip as it is , i knew before i checked that wouldn't be touched as they dont want people going even faster ..

well it now 110 so i can go 145.

It's 110 here on the 404 and you still get the hook for doing 150.

On the 404 north.. I rarely see cars going below 140. It should be 110 on all 400 series.

No,we should be petitioning for the hook to be gone...no police officer should be judge/jury/executioner at the road side for something as simple as driving quickly.

On the QE Mississauga to Hamilton on a Sunday morning 140-150 is abundant, I was in the R8 once doing 130 middle lane and an M4 passed me on the left like I was standing still...

"as simple as driving quickly" , is the number one killer on the roads. i am an enthusiast too , what you state is a massive understatement, im surprised you aren't saying police should go catch "real criminals" when there are horrific car accidents due to high speed that kill people every single day.
Someone who blows by me " driving quickly" at 150 can and does create horrific accident, the pseson doing 100 might be "slow" for you and if you hit them doing your " going quickly" speed , the carnage is immense. ... plus you know the posted speed ... the hook isnt for driving quickly.. the hook is for being a F'ing idiot who cant read posted signs. Im not sure who whips down the road at 150km/hr then says " im innocent: i deserve due process".
I hate speeding tickets too and i have lots of them, but i am with the courts on this one, I do stupid things, i man up and win my stupid prize, i dont whine that the game needs to change.

hes fine .. he was just "driving quickly" , no danger at all .. hes not a real criminal ..

I'd argue that inexperienced and poorly trained drivers are more the problem. I am certain that many here can cruise on the highways at 150kph, without killing anybody.
It starts at the foundation: We have immigrants with little experience on our roads, teaching newcomers how to drive.... that's a huge problem.

Well you see , the road is built for everyone, a person doing 100 who wants to change lanes should not have to worry about the guy who thinks he is a better driver, has a car that can " handle it" . blasting up at 150+ km/hr. The morgue is full of " better drivers" and their victims. I was in the road for over 40 years and have seen more than my share of these victims. So yes it is a bit personal. In just about every case the vehicles have been massively destroyed. to the point you can t tell what the vehicle was, i think we have all seen them.

Anyway we are going down a rabbit hole here and that was not my intent. Every segment of the car/ motorcycle culture will have entitled drivers who think the road is for them and everyone should get out of the way so they can go as fast as they want as they are " superior drivers with better machines" and they should not in any way be held accountable for their actions and have their car hooked.

I am sure there are many that disagree and that's okay of course, i just think at some point we have to take a big step back, stop and think of other people, not just ourselves.

speed doesn't kill. people go to the track every day and aren't horribly erased. the actual causes are simple: wrong type of car or poorly serviced things like suspension and brakes, driver over-estimating their ability, driving in poor weather conditions, driving in traffic, cold tires on cold road, distracted or impaired, road not up to spec for racing speeds. naturally when any of these things are in play excess speed will cause greater damage.
