Which vehicle?
On the GT cars it’s $500ish at Mantis over $650 at dealer.

jesus that's insane ... is it really that difficult on modern cars . Or are these dealers just taking money from people who don't want to do it themselves ?

Mine is 130.00 CAD +10.00 Filter to do myself in my garage in half an hour , an hour if i feel like taking my time , and thats with Boutique oil ..

things are just getting insane it seems

Reach out to many of the competent Indys in and around town. Its a Cayenne for gods sake not an exotic garage queen. That pricing is asinine.

I can do an oil change on my 997 blindfolded (still hate doing it though lol)

Last fall I saved $500 plus by doing the 718 myself. It's more difficult than any car I'd done previously because it's hard to get it up in the air. I ended up doing something like this except with a ~2 foot length of 2X6 and axle stands either side of the 2 X 6. After you pull the drain plug you have to remove the axle stands and level the car to make sure all the oil drains. I also took the left rear wheel off to do the oil filter, so it takes more time, but not hours worth

Speaking of time, when the dealer did the previous oil change, it took me 45 min to drive there, 45 min to drive back, and I waited 4 hours

If you take a diesel Tourage to VW the oil change is $220, the same drive train in a Cayenne, and it's more than double. Someone has to pay for the fancy showroom and beverage bars.

IMO even the Indies are charging a lot, but I know labor and buildings are not cheap these days.

I paid 745 with tax for My 911 today at Porsche North Toronto. I also dropped it off at 930. Pickup at 5.
it's ridiculous.
I've changed all the oils on all my cars the past 20 years.
My current 911 is under CPO, so im stuck for a few years using the dealer.
once its out of warranty, ill do it myself or drop it by my local indys. they charge between 250 and 450 for oil changes.

That is shocking! Do it a few times and you have enough for a lift.

You can do your own oil changes, you are not required to bring it to the dealer to keep your warranty.

Record the oil change, receipts, etc.

Porsche canada thinks otherwise.

Regarding the oil change, we understand you are seeking assistance in finding a location to bring your vehicle for oil changes as your Porsche Center is an hour away. However, we at the Porsche Customer Interaction Center recommend visiting your local Porsche Center. If a third-party repair shop performs an oil change on your vehicle and an issue or damage to any part occurs, then that specific issue would not be covered under the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty. This is why we encourage our customers to cooperate with their local Porsche Center for maintenance and repairs.

Well ya..

why would they cover the mistake of another shop? I wouldn’t expect them to either.

If you change the oil and put the wrong oil in or don’t fill it up enough and cause engine damage, well that is on you.

That doesn’t mean they won’t cover their warranty if the service is done correctly.

Porsche would have to prove that the warranty repair was caused by a faulty oil change. As long as the oil is correct spec, correct level and the shop uses Mann/Mahle/Hengst filters it won't affect the warranty.
