There are a lot of other reasons I use FF, support, integration with Google, integrated spell check, security features, etc. but YMMV and if you're happy with another browser, give 'er.
I believe what I see, and that's the load times for Safari are significantly faster than in prior versions.

I am not a computer expert. I use vista. question: is it easy to migrate all my stuff (favorites etc) to firefox and to install it? and should I do it or is this mostly for computer techies?

You could install firefox along with IE. It will/can copy your favorites, bookmarks during installation.
They can co-exist. In other word, just install firefox and see if you like it.
