OT - If you use Forefox for web browsing
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and press enter. You'll get a warning message about your warranty, just ignore it, trust me on this one.
Scroll down and look for the following entries:
- network.http.pipelining
- network.http.proxy.pipelining
- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries (by right clicking on them) as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now! Yes, I am reveling in my Geekness.

Not to hijack your thread but the latest version of Safari for Windoze and Mac is noticeably faster and it has some new really cool features.

I've worked on benchmarking projects for a couple of large computer manufacturers and software vendors and if you believe that sort of thing, I've got a prime alligator ranch in Florida you might also be interested in You tune your product (as with the tip above) and leave the competition in stock format. It's all about marketing.
There are a lot of other reasons I use FF, support, integration with Google, integrated spell check, security features, etc. but YMMV and if you're happy with another browser, give 'er.

Burning Brakes
Does that mean it will hit the website you open with that many hits? I know a few sites that would prolly not like being slammed with 30 hits from a single IP at once.
I set mine to 10 for now to be safe. Was at 4, thanks.

I mean as in, a Site getting angry each time you click something it spams 10x the normal load. Prolly not an issue to Mainstream Site, but for the smaller guys.
Although it seems my Firefox may have been set to 4 at standard, so it shouldn't be too bad at 10.
