I met up with a guy who races Spec 2 and 3 in the 944 class...he ran an 88 944S at Mosport with a turbo. He has the turbo, waste gate, blow off, tubing and customer header available...we are negotiating right now. With a manual boost control, 5-6 pounds of boost got him almost a 70 hp gain. I don't think he was using an intercooler since the boost was low, but if I do this I will add on for sure.

If he wants too much for the set up, I'll go via the supercharger route like you.

How's the 928 supercharged project coming?

Ohh mine is done, has been since mid summer and is running like a raped ape! But I might get my hands on a partial kit (no supercharger) that someone ditched for a different setup. If this goes through, it will go onto the "field car", my brother's '89 S4.

At only 5-6 punds you don't need an intercooler. But if you decide to add one, keep in mind that some of the boost will be lost in the intercooler. If you can compensate for this and tun up the boost a little, then good, otherwise you might loose more in the pressure drop than what the intercooling does. This is why I pulled my custom dual core Volvo intercooler. The pressure drop was reducing the total HP and since the SC impeller was alreayd running at max speed, I couldn't compensate for the loss.

I originally wanted 17's but these were a good deal so I grabbed them from a guy in Omaha. My brother got me a steal on the 18 inch tires so I figured, why not?

I want to drop the car down a fair bit, plus I'm sourcing parts for a turbo project in the spring as well.

They look good on the car, but they are not what I really want on her. Perhaps I'm too picky, I dunno.

Hey !!

What about fuel Management and Knock Control?

When I upgraded my Watergate to a Tial 40mm, I saw 14 PSI because my WG wasn't working properly. You should look at some sort of Knock Control, it really saves you if boost goes nuts. You may also want to make sure you Waste Gate spring matches maximum safe boost and use boost controller to increase or reduce boost. If you want to chat about the reality of turbo charging your 944, give me a buzz.

Nice front Spoiler!!
