Default Its a sad end or a new beginning

Well, did this Monday suck.....It started off like a regular, typical day up until 10AM.
Then it happened out of the blue, no warning,no hint of a problem, just the day went all down the tube.............My position at Rogers was terminated and I became surplus. I no longer have employment and am now on permanent vacation for awhile....after thirty years of service they put me out to pasture. Man that SUCKS............

Bill, definitely bad news, but in time, you might find that this change was for the better. You cannot have a new beginning without something ending to start it all off!

Hey Bill: That's really tough and we are all sorry to hear that but I do agree with what James had to say.... "You cannot have a new beginning without something ending." As long as you have got your health, family and friends, you'll do just fine. Take the Porsche out for a drive and remember that we are with you. Take care.

One door closes another opens in time. Stay positive, take the time to enjoy yourself and move on.

On the bright side, you have a lot more time to drive the Porsche Bill.

Keep your chin up buddy!

Are they using Sub contractors now or just lightening there employees?
Hope you find a better opportunity in the work force that makes you think why didn't this happen sooner. GL

Hey Granger...to answer your question ...I have a little bit of experience in UPS but not much..switch gear, I would imagine you mean controllers, or do you mean inverters as in switching P/S...again some but not much...gensets, well that is my sons trade and I always thought that would be a good business to be in especially around here as there are quite a number of RV and marine units...hmmm ..interesting ...my formal training was in television as a repair person. Now it is a replace society no need for repair techs...I guess it stands true for the cable business too..lol
Palette..yes you are right on both counts...they are contracting or should I say outsourcing more. Like everything else, low cost contracts and a saving in the benefits packages that they don't have to pay. It seems that this is the direction that most large companies are going ie...Bell Canada, MTO ...I'm just a casualty of the recession I guess..my age has nothing to do with it...lol....yeah right....Thanks all...Bill

That really sucks. It reminds me of a similar experience.
