I was wondering what your opinion was on those two rental companies (gta exotic / affinity) Any good/bad experiences? or things to watch out for when renting a porsche.............

i rented a bike from them (GTA)
go over the contracts very carefully.
review every inch of the car with them ahead of time and check the clutch to make sure it has life left in it.

my experience was great but there are some stories floating about.

Also, when i was there, they moved at a snail's pace processing paperwork, there was a scrawny russian kid there who i wouldn't deal with again because he just wasted too much of my time.

deal with stuart or the girl that is there, they move faster.

I didn't know that Stu was still in business. Where is he located now. I know the folks who built the replica Diablo for him and how his rentals had the crap beat out of them (Diablo alone had 4 transmission replacements).

They moved to a new location further away from downtown toronto. Basically you will end up using up your 100km allowance making the round trip from their location. You have to budget an extra 25$ for each 100kms over basically. Something else to consider.

HELP! I've only signed up to this forum because my boyfriend is car-obsessed and I find myself doing a lot of online car-related research for gifts, without any guidance....I would love to get him a luxury car driving day (one where you can drive a few different cars) in the Toronto area for Christmas, but have read so many horror stories about GTA, and can't find much about Affinity. Can anyone recommend one or the other? He's already done a track day in an F1 car, although I would consider something like that as well.

I recently rented a vehicle from them (cough*** Hummer H2 ***cough) and the experience was pleasant, the vehicule was clean and in very good condition. I would rent from Affinity again (no affiliation).

You may want to consider getting him a 1-day performance driving and instructional package. This would allow him to drive a high performance car (theirs) on a track in a controlled environment with a professional instructor. Check out apexdriving.ca, as they offer these type of services. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just know the people that run it and have been to their track days.

Porsche winter driving school...what a ripoff! for that money you could fly to laguna seca and do the spenard course with spec Miatās
